C-15 and C-16 Industrial Engines – Water Temperature Regulator – Test

Personal injury can result from escaping fluid under pressure.

If a pressure indication is shown on the indicator, push the release valve in order to relieve pressure before removing any hose from the radiator.

  1. Remove the water temperature regulator from the engine.
  1. Heat water in a pan until the temperature is 98 °C (208 °F).
  1. Hang the water temperature regulator in the pan of water. The water temperature regulator must be below the surface of the water and away from the sides and the bottom of the pan.
  1. Keep the coolant at the correct temperature for 10 minutes.
  1. After10 minutes, remove the water temperature regulator. Ensure that the water temperature regulator is open. Refer to Specifications, “Water Temperature Regulator” for the correct opening distance of the water temperature regulator at the full open temperature.

Replace the water temperature regulator if the water temperature regulator is not open at the specified temperature.
