Diagnostic Codes
Connect the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) and check for active diagnostic codes. Troubleshoot any active diagnostic codes before continuing with this procedure.
Electrical Connectors
Check for correct installation of the J2/P2 Electronic Control Module (ECM) connector and of the J300/P300 connector that is for the injectors. Refer to Troubleshooting, “Electrical Connectors – Inspect” for more information.
Air Inlet and Exhaust System
- Check the air inlet manifold pressure. Check for air inlet restrictions and/or leaks. Refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, “Air Inlet and Exhaust System” for more information.
- Check for leaks between the exhaust manifold and the turbocharger. Check for exhaust restrictions. Refer to Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting, “Air Inlet and Exhaust System” for more information.
