A force (F) of 95 to 125 lbs. (425 to 555 N) must be necessary to engage the clutch. The force must be at 90° to the clutch lever and 13.6 in. (345 mm) from the center of the lever shaft.
Torque the bolt that holds the clutch lever on the shaft to … 75 lb.ft.(100 N·m)
(1) Torque for hub nut … 30 lb.ft.(40 N·m) + 60° to 90°
(2) Torque for bolt that holds the lock in place … 21 lb.ft.(26 N·m)
(3) End clearance for shaft … .004 to .007 in.(0.10 to 0.18 mm)
(4) Thickness of clutch plate (new) … .433 to .443 in.(11.00 to 11.25 mm)
(5) Torque for two bolts that hold the yoke to the shaft … 38 lb.ft.(51 N·m)
(6) Torque for two bolts that hold the collar assembly together … 30 lb.ft.(40 N·m)
