C7 Industrial Engines Disassembly and Assembly – Coolant Temperature Sensor – Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the coolant into a suitable container for storage or for disposal. Drain the coolant to a level that is below the coolant temperature sensor. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Cooling System Coolant (ELC) – Change”.

2. Disconnect harness assembly (1) from coolant temperature sensor (2) .

3. Remove coolant temperature sensor (2) from the engine.

Installation Procedure

Note: Check the O-ring seal for wear or for damage. If necessary, replace the O-ring seal.

1. Install the O-ring seal onto coolant temperature sensor (2) .

2. Install coolant temperature sensor (2) into the engine. Tighten coolant temperature sensor (2) to a torque of 20 ± 3 N·m (15 ± 2 lb ft).

3. Connect harness assembly (1) onto coolant temperature sensor (2) .

4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Cooling System Coolant (ELC) – Change”.
