When replacing temperature switch assemblies, be careful not to drop or hit the new switch on a rigid surface. A rigid surfaces can damage sensing surface (A) of the switch. Denting or smashing the sensing surface may cause the switch to work at an incorrect temperature or not work at all. This applies to temperature switches with screw terminals or wire leads. Also, when tightening screws (1) on screw terminal type temperature switches, do NOT exceed 1.2 N·m (11 lb in). Damage to the switch can occur if tightened too much.
