C3.3B Tier 4 Interim and EU Stage 3A Engines for Caterpillar Built Machines – Valve Mechanism Cover – Remove and Install – C3.3B

Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the glow plugs.
2. Remove the fuel injection lines.

Note: Refer to Specification UENR0995 "Engine Design" for non-specified engine Torque Values.

1. Disconnect tube assembly (1) .

2. Disconnect hose assemblies (2) and (5) .

3. Remove bolts (4) .

4. Remove valve mechanism cover (3) .

5. If necessary, remove O-ring seal in valve mechanism cover (3) and replace with new.

Installation Procedure

1. Install valve mechanism cover (3) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Tighten bolts (4) to a torque of 10 to 11 N·m (87 to 100 lb in).
