C3.3B Tier 4 Interim and EU Stage 3A Engines for Caterpillar Built Machines – Turbocharger – Remove and Install

Removal Procedure

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

1. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Radiator Tilting".

2. Remove hoses (1) .

3. Remove bolts (2) .

4. Remove tube assembly (3). Disconnect tube assembly (4) and hose (5) .

5. Remove nuts (6) and bolts (7). Remove turbocharger (8) and the gasket.

Installation Procedure

1. Install turbocharger (8) and a new gasket in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Apply Tooling (A) onto nuts (6) and bolts (7) .
