Inspect the main bearings for peeling, melting, seizure or poor contact. If the main bearings are worn or if the main bearings are damaged, replace the main bearings.
- Measure the clearance between the main bearings and the crankshaft journal.
- Measure the main bearings at positions (1) and (2) in directions (A) and (B). Refer to the Specifications Module, "Cylinder block" topic for information on the tolerances.
