The corrective procedures may cause new diagnostic codes to be logged. Before performing any procedure, make a list of all the active diagnostic codes. Clear the diagnostic codes as the problems that caused the diagnostic codes are corrected.
Cat ET displays the following active diagnostic code information:
- Component identifier (CID)
- Failure mode identifier (FMI)
- Text description of the problem

Typical Cat ET screen for logged diagnostic codes |
Cat ET displays the following logged diagnostic code information:
- Component identifier (CID)
- Failure mode identifier (FMI)
- Text description of the problem
- Number of occurrences of the problem
- Time stamp of the first occurrence of the problem
- Time stamp of the most recent occurrence of the problem
Cat ET logs diagnostic codes that are continuous and intermittent.
Note: Diagnostics are logged in non-volatile memory. On powerup, the ECM clears any diagnostic codes that have not been detected or active within the last 150 hours of machine operation.
