259D Compact Track Loader – Glow Plugs – Remove and Install – C3.3B

Removal Procedure

Note: Refer to Specification UENR0995 "Engine Design" for non-specified engine Torque Values.

1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

2. If necessary, remove hose assembly and relocate the hose.

3. Remove nuts (2) that secure bus bar (3) to glow plugs (1) .

4. Remove bus bar (3) from glow plugs (1) .

5. Remove four glow plugs (1) .

6. Remove seal (4) from glow plugs (1) .

7. Remove the glow plug with seal (4) attached to the glow plug. If, seal (4) remains in the valve mechanism cover (5) , the result will be seal (4) being pushed into valve mechanism cover (5) .

Installation Procedure

1. Install glow plugs (4) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Tighten the glow plugs (1) to a torque of 8 to 9 N·m (71 to 80 lb in).

      Note: Ensure that the threads of the glow plugs are clean and free from damage. Replace any damaged glow plugs.

   2. Tighten the nut (2) on glow plug (1) and bus bar (3) to a torque of 1 to 2 N·m (9 to 18 lb in).

   3. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
